Most of the bird has been completed this far but I'm sure that I'll find something else to do to it. I'll work on the background next and possible a few more washes of color here and there. Once I'm happy with that, I'll go back to the bird and finish the finer details etc. I also need to finish that ear tuft!

It's looking great, as I expected.....
I guess doing the less-interesting stuff like the branch it is perched on will be evidence of a dedicated artist !

Thanks John, I'm not sure how much more I'll be doing to this painting - pity as I was looking forward to doing "the less-interesting stuff" as you put it. Actually studying the work of Raymond Ching has given me a few ideas about this type of painting so lots to think about for the future.
